Having a distinguished career as a Judge of over twenty-three years; the quality of my service supports my qualification to continue Serving.

Applying my strong legal ability and intellectual capacity, I have interpreted and applied established legal principles to factual situations to communicate, in speech and writing, the reasoning behind every legal conclusion I have made since becoming a judge of the State Court of Gwinnett County in 1999. 

My ability to reach concise decisions promptly, undoubtedly respond to issues, and grasp the real meaning of questions quickly presented influenced my elevation to the Superior Court by the appointment of the Governor of Georgia in 2002. 

My knowledge of substantive law, knowledge of rules of procedure and evidence, and by remaining current on developments in law, processes, and evidence have resulted in being re-elected unopposed later that year to a 4-year term in the Superior Court of Gwinnett County and several times again in 2006, 2010, 2014, and 2018.

I’m mindful of the requirements of my office that Judges must know and understand the law. Therefore, I participate in judicial education programs and continue the process of a judge’s self-education to provide constructive comments concerning how others view my understanding and knowledge of the law. 

Gwinnett County has been one of America’s fastest-growing counties for the last 20 years. The Gwinnett County public school system and numerous private schools are consistently top-rated.

Justice, for people, refers to fairness, and justice is one of the most important moral values in the spheres of law.
